Mitsubishi’s Uni Mark Sheet pencil was designed with a single purpose in mind, but it actually has much more versatility than you’d expect. It’s an HB (#2) hardness pencil that makes an unusually dark and shiny mark, for easy reading by optical machines like Scantron test scorer. Unlike other dark pencils, it retains its point for a long time, so you don’t have to sharpen so often.
Just for fun, we tested Mark Sheet with a Scantron form and we can definitely recommend it for making unambiguous marks on tests. But we also noticed that this would make an outstanding writing or drawing pencil. The extra glossiness creates a bit of attractive variation in shading when using Mark Sheet to draw. And the combination of dark lines and good point retention makes it a perfect choice for long writing sessions.
Mark Sheet also has a great sense of style, with a professional grey and black body and a subtle blue accent. The back of the pencil is marked with the HB grade, so you can pick it out of your pencil cup easily.
